Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) Distance Education Overview

Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) is a State Open University established in the year 2002. TNOU Distance Learning was recognized by an Act (No.27 of 2002) of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of the state of Tamil Nadu. It was the first Open and Distance Learning (ODL) University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The University offers various UG and PG programms i.e. BBA, MBA, B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., M.A. and M.Sc. All the courses that are offered by the University are approved by UGC, DEB, RCI, and NCTE.

The main objective of the establishment of the university is to provide higher education to handicapped/disabled, underprivileged, rejected admission to higher education, working men and women or people who are not able to complete their education due to other goals or can’t afford higher fees.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Eligibility

• The person who wants to apply for this must finished their 10+2 studies from a school board that people know is good.
• Students who are studying Arts, Commerce or Science can apply for the course they want to do.
• There is no entrance examination for most undergraduate programs.
• Some courses require certain subjects for BSc or BCA programs.
• The Open University system is really helpful for people who do not have the qualifications. So people who did not finish their 10+2 can still apply to the university.

Postgraduate Eligibility
