Kashmir University Overview
Established in 1948, University of Kashmir (U-K, UoK) informally called Kashmir University (KU) is a collegiate public state university located on the western shores of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, India. The university’s main campus is split into three sections: Naseem Bagh Campus, Hazratbal Campus, and Mirza Bagh Campus. It has received an A+ rating from NAAC in 2019. Kashmir University is a state-run public university that offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes. Business & management studies, Liberal arts, education, law, biological sciences, physical & material sciences, applied sciences & technology, medicine, social sciences, engineering, dentistry, oriental learning, and music & fine arts are among the university’s UG, PG and doctoral programmes. Admission to the courses is based on national level competitive tests such as CMAT, GATE, and JEE. In order to be admitted to several of the university’s courses, students must pass an entrance exam.
University of Kashmir also has a Directorate of Distance Education. The Directorate of Distance Education in Srinagar was founded in 1976. The institution offers open and distance learning courses in a variety of subjects. B.Ed., MA, M.Com., M.Sc., Diploma, and PG Diploma programmes in several subjects are currently offered by Kashmir University Distance Education. All courses are admitted based on the results of the qualifying examination. Every year in the months of June and July, the admissions procedure takes place. There are no age restrictions for any of the courses.

The university accepts students through an online application process. Candidates who intend to apply should go to the university’s official website and fill out the application form.
Steps to apply for distance education:
- Click on the application form link on DDE, Kashmir University’s official website.
- Make sure you review the instructions before registering using your email address or phone number.
- Logging in requires that candidates use the credentials supplied to their registered email address. Once the academic information has been entered, candidates can choose a course.
- Following completion of the application form, applicants must pay an application fee.
- The candidate can use a payment gateway to pay online, or they can pay in person using their pay in slip. For candidates who would prefer to make their fees payment in person, they can do so at any Finnacle branch of J&K Bank Ltd.
