Jai Prakash University Overview

JPU (Jai Prakash University) is a state university in the Indian state of Bihar. The Government of Bihar developed it in response to the requirements of the people of Saran commissionary. The institution is named after Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan, a liberation warrior. The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and is recognised by the UGC as a state university. It has authority over the Saran Division, which includes the three districts of Siwan, Saran, and Gopalganj. With twenty-one constituent colleges and eleven associated colleges, the University provides practically the whole spectrum of higher education, and one College of Engineering will be founded shortly. The academic programmes and administrative functions of the University have been facilitated in the calm and tranquil environment, and 250 acres of land for the new University campus have been bought and possessed. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in most topics through its 21 constituent colleges, 11 associated institutions, and 23 projected colleges, including 10 professional colleges.

University of Jai Prakash DDE was founded between 1990 and 2000, shortly after Dr. S. N. Prasad was appointed Vice-Chancellor of Jai Prakash University on June 23, 1998. DDE provides high-quality higher education to a wide portion of the population, particularly disadvantaged groups such as those living in distant and rural regions, working people, women, and so on. The Directorate of Distance Education is run through Study Centres. Each centre is led by a co-ordinator who plans, supervises, develops, and organises its academic programmes and courses in collaboration with the centre staff and the University’s many academic, administrative, and service wings. The emphasis is on offering a diverse range of courses at various levels. The University provides courses in higher learning through the open and distance learning (ODL) mode of education to students from the state of Bihar in particular and other students from the country in general who have been denied admission to conventional institutions or who are unable to study in such institutions as day boarders but wish to improve their educational attainments.

 The admissions procedure for DDE (Distance Education) is entirely based on a merit list.

Reserved seats are provided by the university for reserved candidates. For the application procedure, the university offers an online option. It also offers scholarship programme. At University campus, students have access to a variety of amenities. It includes a gymnasium, cafeteria, computer laboratories with high-speed internet access, WIFI campus, a bank and ATM, and a library with 1000 volumes in the middle of campus
