There are 11 constituent colleges and 28 departments that make up the institution. Kakatiya University, Warangal, provides UG and PG programmes in the areas of Science, Arts, Commerce, and Business Management.  The institution provides approximately 120 programmes at the undergraduate and graduate levels in several faculties. The university is made up of 11 colleges. The institute also provides diploma and professional training. The university also has branch campuses in the cities, namely, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Godavarikhani and Khammam.

With the creation of the Distance Education Quality Support and Training Institute, the SDLC has also been designated as a Nodal Agency for Distance Education Training and Research (DWQSTI). Only offline applications to SDLCE (School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education) are accepted. Students can go to the university to complete the process. UG courses are open to students having a higher secondary education degree. Students having a bachelor’s degree can enrol in PG courses.
