The University of Madras (UOM), Chennai, was established in 1857 by an Act passed by the Legislative Council of India. It is a state university that is coed. Madras University has been approved by the UGC and has received a “A” grade from the NAAC. In the 2023 NIRF ranking, the university category ranked the institution 50th. The University of Madras offers 165 courses at three different levels. The three levels are UG, PG, and Diploma. The University of Madras offers a wide range of specialisations in its courses. Both the PG Diploma and Diploma levels of the diploma are offered by the institution.

Madras University Distance Education Admission Eligibility Criteria

Madras University Distance MBA Eligibility Criteria:-

1. There is no minimum age limit for the candidates.
2. Candidates with bachelor’s degree (minimum of three years’ duration) or Master’s degree or equivalent degree from a university recognized by the UGC/AIU with at least 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply
3. Candidates with a professional degree in engineering/ technology/ medicine/ architecture/ law
4. Candidates with professional qualification in accountancy/cost and work accountancy can also apply
5. For MBA Executive, Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline of recognized university/ deemed university along with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in managerial/supervisory/ executive cadre in business/industry in private or public or government, etc.
