UPSC IES ISS Online Form 2026 for 44 Post

The Commission has released the official announcement for the exam of (UPSC IES ISS)  Union Public Service Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Indian Reclamation 2026. A total of 44 vacancies have been announced under this reclamation drive. Campaigners who want to make a career in the field of economics and statistics under the Government of India can apply online through the official UPSC website. 

The UPSC conducts the IES and ISS examinations every year to elect  good  campaigners for Group ‘ A’ services. These services play an important  part in policy making, data analysis, and  profitable planning at the  national level. 

Important Dates 

The  application process started on 12 February 2026, as per the announcement. Those candidates who are intrested can submit their online  application until the 3rd March 2026( 6:00 PM). 

The written test for the UPSC IES/ ISS 2026 is expected to be listed from the 19 June 2026. Those campaigners who qualify in the written examination they will be called for the interview or viva round, which will be conducted at a after date. 

Total vacancies

This time, UPSC has announced a total of 44 posts under this reclamation. Out of these 

• Indian Economic Service( IES) 18 posts 
• Indian Statistical Service( ISS) 26 posts 

The  vacancies are divided among different categories as per government reservation rules, including SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD  orders. 

Eligibility Criteria 

For the Indian Economic Service( IES) 

A seeker must have a Postgraduate Degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a  honored university. 

For Indian Statistical Service( ISS) 

A  seeker must have a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics as one of the subjects, or a Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics from a  honored university. 

Age Limit 

The aspirants must be between 21 years and 30 year. Age relaxation is applicable for  reserved category as per government rules. 

Application fees

The UPSC IES ISS Online Form 2026 application fees for the examination are ₹ 200 for the General and OBC male candidates. Female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities( PwBD) categories are exempted from paying the fees.

Selection Process 

The selection process consists of two stages 

• Written Examination 
• Interview( Viva) 

The written examination is descriptive in nature and is conducted over several days. The papers are designed to test the  candidate’s knowledge of economics or statistics, depending on the service applied for. 

For IES, the written test includes papers in General English, General Studies, General Economics, and Indian Economics. 

For ISS, the written test includes papers in General English, General Studies, and  various papers related to Statistics. 

Aspirants who will clear the written examination will be called for the interview round. The final selection will be predicated on the combined marks which is attained in the written test and the interview. 

How to Apply 

Candidates can apply online by following these way 

• Visit the official UPSC website at upsconline.nic.in. 
• Complete the One Time Registration( OTR) process if not formerly done. 
• Fill out the online operation form for IES/ ISS 2026. 
• Upload  scanned  duplicates of photo and signature. 
• Pay the application fees

Aspirants should  ensure that all details entered in the application form are correct. Any mistake may lead to rejection of the application . 

Test Centres

The examination will be held at  various centres across the India, which include major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Bhopal. The exact test centre will be mentioned on the admit card of the aspirants .

Admit Card 

The admit card will be released on the  official Union Public Service Commission website many weeks before the examination. Campaigners must download the admit card and carry a  published  copy along with a valid  print identity  evidence to the examination centre.
