About Online and ODL Programs

What Are UGC/DEB/AICTE Approvals
UGC (University Grants Commission)
University Grants Commission (UGC) is established by the government of India under the UGC act 1956 to maintain the higher education standard in India. It has been introduced under the ministry of education for the maintenance of standards of education by higher education institutes.
It is compulsory for every institute/university to get recognized or get approval from the UGC, so that your degree should be considered valid all over India.
DEB (Distant Education Bureau)
Distance Education Bureau (DEB) comes under the statutory body UGC (University Grants Commission). DEB has been established in 2012 essentially to maintain the standards of open and distance learning education in India. Distance Education Bureau (DEB) has replaced Distance Education Bureau (DEB).
It is compulsory for every institute/university to get approval from the DEB to provide you Online education and Open & Distance Learning.
If any of the institute/university have gained recognition from UGC-DEB then your degree have a value or if university has not gained any recognition then your degrees will not have any value.
AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education)
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been established under the department of higher education and it is the national-level council for technical education. All India Council for Technical Education is introduced as an advisory council for the proper development and management of technical and management education in India.
Later on, it has achieved the status of the statutory body under an act of parliament. AICTE is responsible for the guidance and recommendations to colleges affiliated with universities.
Both UGC-DEB and AICTE have the authority to regulate all the higher education institutes.
