Established in 1966, Madurai Kamaraj University has been accredited with grade A++ in the 4th Cycle (2021) by NAAC. In the survey of Government Multidisciplinary Universities Rankings (2022) by Education World India, the University stood at 9th ranking at All India level and first among the Universities in Tamil Nadu.

Madurai Kamaraj University is, with the social concern of catering to the educational needs of rural students in and around Madurai district and also with the goal of empowering the rural women by disseminating knowledge.

The University offers 46 Post Graduate, Integrated, 12 Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, P.G. Diploma courses and has been producing 3 outstanding scholars. Eminent Professors and Researchers are handling Classes, providing hands-on training with modern equipment. Duration: 3 Hrs.; Maximum: - 100 Marks; Passing Min.: - 50 Marks

PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS 

1. Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 pattern or its equivalent. 

2. Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (non-semester) of the U.G. programme are eligible to apply for P.G. Programme.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 

1) Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus. 

2) Applicants who are willing to apply for more than one programme have to apply separately for each programme in the online mode.

3) Fees The applicant has to pay the Registration Fee of Rs.300/- for every PG Programme he/she applies for non-entrance programme.

 If the applicant applies for PG Programme (Entrance) then the applicant has to pay the Fee of Rs.800/- along with the Registration fee including entrance exam fees. 

SC/ST and Christian AdiDravidar Students are exempted from paying the registration and entrance examination fees for one Programme. If they want to apply for more programs, then they have to pay the Registration fee and entrance exam fees. 

4) Instructions for filling-up the ONLINE application 

a) Attachments to be uploaded 

1. Upload the scanned image of the Passport Size Photograph.

 2. Upload the scanned image of the Signature in the appropriate box. 

3. Upload the scanned image of the SSLC, H.S.C., mark statements for PG programme. 

4. Upload the scanned image of the Consolidated Mark Statement if the applicant has already completed the UG Course. Otherwise, the applicant has to upload the scanned copies of the mark statements of all the five semesters.

 5. The applicant has to upload the scanned copy of the Community Certificate if the community of the applicant is other than OC. 

6. If the applicant comes under the Special Category, then the applicant has to upload the scanned copy of the concerned certificate. 

7. SC/ST and Christian AdiDravidar candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration fee for only one programme (Registration fee has to be paid for applying for additional programme). 

8. Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive action. 

9. All the columns in the application should be filled. 

10. Incomplete application will be rejected.

b) Xerox copies of the following certificates along with Original has to be produced at the time of Admission. 

1. SSLC, H.S.C., mark statements for UG and PG Programme. 

2. For PG Programme, U.G. degree Mark statements / Grade certificates / Provisional Certificate. 3. Community Certificate obtained from Tahsildar / Deputy Tahsildar concerned. 

4. Income Certificate (obtained within 3 months before the date of submission of application) has to be produced (for SC/ST candidates only). 

5. Certificate of Differently Abled / Leprosy cured: Candidates under the Differently Abled category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon. 

6. Sports Certificate: Candidates under the Sports category should produce a certificate obtained from the concerned University Physical Director in Form-I/II/III for having represented the State/Interuniversity tournaments/Athletics. 

7. Ex-servicemen / NCC Certificate: Certificates to be produced Note:

 Hall ticket will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail address.

SELECTION PROCEDURE 

For the M.B.A. (Residential Programme), there will be an interview and group discussion following the entrance examination results. 

For the Integrated Programme, Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, P.G. Diploma Programme there is no entrance examination. Selection is based on the marks obtained in the concerned course / subjects. 

Reservation Policy

 Tamil Nadu Government Reservation Policy will be strictly followed for admission to all Programme. 

Publication of Selection 

The list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be published in the University website and displayed on the Notice Board outside the Hall where the Counseling will be conducted.

Entrance Exam Centres: 

The Entrance Tests may be conducted at the following centres:

VII. FEES DETAILS Refer Annexure –

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 

1. The name of the programme applied for and the registration number should be specified in all the communications addressed to the University.

2. The University reserves the right to suspend any programme or cancel any Exam / Exam Centre’s without any reason.

3. The University will not be held responsible for any delay or loss in online transaction, postal or any other modes of transit.

4. The decision of the University shall be final in all cases of admission. The candidates are requested to go through the guidelines as described in the G.O.(D) No.161 dated 14.06.2022.

5. The selected candidate should meet the Chairpersons / Heads / Directors of Schools / Departments / Centres concerned on or before the stipulated date and time and submit the following original certificates along with Xerox copies of the certificates(Self Attested) only to the Head of the Department at the time of admission for the purpose of verification.

6. After that the candidate should remit the prescribed fee (refer Prospectus Annexure-A for fees details) available in our website. The payment should be made through SBI-I COLLECT – Madurai Kamaraj University – Registrar.

7. The waiting list candidates will be informed about their position in the waiting list for admission and they should meet the Chairpersons / Heads / Directors of Schools / Departments / Centres concerned on specified date, time and place, failing which the candidate will forfeit the seat against vacancies, if any.

 8. Vacancies, if any, will be filled in from among the waiting list candidates reporting for selection strictly in the order of merit and there is no guarantee for admission. 

9. Selected waiting list candidates will have to remit the fees on the same day. No extension of time shall be granted for payment of fees under any circumstances. 

10.Otherwise, the admission will automatically stand cancelled and the candidate will have no claim for admission to the programme. 

11.The candidate awaiting the mark-statement should furnish the consolidated statement of marks to the Head of the Department within the stipulated time prescribed by the University. In case, the candidate fails to secure the minimum marks prescribed for admission as per the regulations will forfeit the seat allotted as well as the fees paid. 

12. Any request to change the programme and transfer of fees will not be entertained. 

13. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate under any circumstances.

14. Tuition fee as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the SC/ST candidates at the time of admission. 

15. Tuition fee and special fee as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the Differently abled candidates at the time of admission. 

16. Other States students are treated only under the ‘Open Competition’ category for all the Programme. 

17. No Candidate will be permitted to take the Entrance Exam without a Hall Ticket. IX. 

Refund of Fees:

The refund of fees in respect of the students who have not attended even a single class during the semester and also withdrawn from the programme within one month from the date of commencement of the classes and who paid the Special fees be made as follows. 

1. 100% of Special fees paid will not be refunded 

2. 100% of Caution Deposit will be refunded

 3. Rest of the fees will be refunded at 80%
