Karnataka SSLC 2021:Time Table Released, 10th board exams started

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board Secondary School Leaving Certificate (KSEEB SSLC) 2021: Due to pandemic, the pending ongoing exams of 10th class are conducted by the Karnataka Board from 19th of July 2021.

Health check-ups were compulsory at all the exam centres. It was required for all the students to be sanitised and undergo thermal screening. There were 12 students in each hall, which means one student in each desk. 

The exam started from 10:30 am according to the scheduled time. Students showed some nervousness but excitement while appearing in the exam. Education Minister Mr. S. Suresh Kumar promised the parents about the examinee’s safety.

The education minister said,“Today the positivity rate is 1.3 per cent and we have improved the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).We have also increased the number of employees (engaged in this work). I assure the parents not to worry about these exams. We are taking full care of their children.”  

Exams in Two Shifts

Due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the board examinations for the academic year 2020-2021 for classes 10th and 12th are cancelled by the Central Board, CISCE and CBSE and various state boards and declaration of the results is done through the alternative evaluation methods. On the basis of internal assessment, the board exams of class 10thare conducted by Karnataka Board from 19th of July 2021.

However, the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) examinations of the KSEEB (Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board) will be finished in very short period due to this pandemic. There are 8.76 lakh students who have registered for Karnataka Board of Class 10 examinations according to the received information.

On 19th July examination, the time duration for the first shift was from 10:30am to 1:30pm. In this shift the main subjects were Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Sociology, Economics, Political Science and Hindustani Music/ Carnatic Music. On the other hand, the timing for second shift was from 2:30pm to 5pm. In which the main subjects were Electrical Engineering, Engineering Graphics-2, Electronics Engineering and Computer Science.

According to the date sheet of Karnataka Board Secondary School Leaving Certificate Exam 2021, no exam will be held on 20thof July 2021 and after that due to Bakri Eid, no exam will be held on 21st of July also. Thereafter, the next exam (third language paper) will be held on 22nd of July 2021. This paper will be completed in a single shift and the timing of the third language paper will be from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The main subjects for the third paper will be Hindi, Sanskrit, Konkani and Tulu. Along with this the papers of NAQF will also be held on 22nd of July 2021. The subjects for NAQF Exams are Information Technology, Retail Automobile, Health Care and Beauty & Wellness.

During Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Exams, KSEEB (Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board) has declared to give 15 minutes extra to the differently-abled students from the scheduled time.
