In JEE Main 2021, the counselling processes includes JoSAA, CSAB NEUT, CSAB Special Round, and CSAB SFTI. The JEE Main Counselling 2021 will be a straightforward procedure in which applicants must register for JoSAA, input their preferences, and pay the mandated money in order to accept the seat assigned in the future stages of JEE Main Counselling 2021.

JEE Main 2021 counselling will most likely begin in the second week of October. JEE Main 2021 counselling and seat assignment will be conducted online by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). JEE Main 2021 counselling and seat allotment will take place in seven rounds. The JEE Main 2021 seat assignment procedure will be based on the choices made by applicants during the JoSAA 2021 registration process. The Central Seat Allocation Board will conduct the counselling for empty seats. CSAB NEUT allocates supernumerary seats in the North East and Union Territories. In addition, the CSAB will perform a separate counselling procedure. CSAB Self-Financing Technical Institutes for 18 Self-Financing Technical Institutes (SFTIs).

JoSAA 2021 will be held for admissions to 110 participating institutes, which includes IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs. Only students who have achieved the qualifying JEE Main Cut off Score will be allowed to participate in the JEE Main Counselling 2021. Due to limited participation from SFTIs, CSAB SFTI Counselling is no longer offered

JEE Main Counselling process

The counselling process for JEE Main 2021 is as follows:

  • Fill the JoSAA Counselling form by logging to the official website and confirm the registration.
  • Lock the colleges and courses preference. Seats will be allocated as per availability and choices fill by students. After each round of counselling, students can lock their choices.
  • Seats will be allocated on merit basis. Students can choose for branches/ programmes online. Documents will be verified at this stage. Students belonging to the general/reserved category are required to produce the original documents at this stage.
  • Counselling fee payment for JEE Main 2021. Counselling fee should be paid at this stage for seat confirmation.
  • If students wish to keep the allotted seat/upgrade their seat, they can go for float
  • If students don’t wish to participate further in counselling, they can go for freeze
  • If they wish to accept the seat and would like to change or upgrade the programme they chose earlier, then they can go for slide
  • Students who have confirmed their seat earlier and now would like to withdraw from the same, can inform the allotted institute before the final round of seat allotment.
  • Next step is to report to the concerned center for the verification of documents.
  • Final step is to report to the allotted institute and pay the remaining fee before deadline.
