CUET UG 2023: 168 Universities Will Participate, And The Application Deadline Will Most Likely Be Extended

CUET UG Application Deadline

Due to the increasing number of universities opting for the test for admissions, it is anticipated that the application deadline for CUET UG 2023, currently set for March 12, will be extended.

According to officials, the number of universities choosing the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions has increased to 168, as compared to 90 universities in the previous year.

It is anticipated that the application deadline for CUET UG 2023, which is currently March 12, will be extended as more universities are expected to opt for the test for admissions.

CUET has been chosen by 168 universities for their undergraduate admissions, with 44 central universities and 31 state universities among them. The universities that have opted for CUET include state universities such as Barkatullah University in Bhopal, Dr. B R Ambedkar School of Economics in Karnataka, Cotton University in Guwahati, and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi.

CUET UG Exam Dates

According to a senior official, 27 deemed universities will admit students to their undergraduate programs based on their CUET UG scores. Moreover, 66 private universities, such as Bennett University in Uttar Pradesh, NIIT University in Rajasthan, and UPES in Dehradun, are also participating in the common entrance test this year.

As per the current schedule, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is set to take place from May 21 to May 31.

In March of last year, the University Grants Commission (UGC) declared that admission to undergraduate programs in all central universities would be based on a common entrance test, and not on the basis of Class 12 marks. The UG admission process for universities is expected to be finished by July 2023, with the new academic session commencing on August 1. The first edition of the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate programs (CUET-UG) was held in July last year and faced technical issues.
