Can I do MBA With 40% Marks in Graduation? – Get Admission in MBA Course
Can I do MBA With 40% Marks in Graduation? It is a bitter truth but it is impossible to pursue full time MBA or PGDM program with 40% marks in graduation.
Anywhere in India with just 40% score in graduation it will not work for you to get admission somewhere because, any of the reputed university is not going to give you admission with this score.
The minimum eligibility criteria to get admission in the reputed college or university is 50% marks in graduation for general category students and SC/ST & OBC category students has to score at least 45% marks in graduation.
Though, you can get into any local colleges, but your MBA degree is of no use, because in such colleges companies do not come for placement.
But the there is one option for you through which you can pursue MBA with 40% marks in graduation.
The option would be to pursue MBA through Distance education/Distance learning or through Correspondence mode. In this mode you simply need to be graduated in any discipline from a recognized Institution/ University.
Hence, there is no age limit to do MBA in both full time and part time/distance mode; it is a 2 years’ post-graduation master’s degree you can apply for it anytime at any age after your graduation
Apply through Entrance Exam

Top MBA Entrance Exams 2021
- National level MBA Exams – CAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, NMAT, SNAP, ATMA, GMAT
- University/Institute level MBA test – IIFT, TISS NET, IBSAT, KIITEE Management, UPES MET
- State level MBA exams – MAH CET, TANCET, PGCET, KMAT (for MBA colleges in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and many more)
It doesn’t mean that through these entrance exams you get admission to full time MBA programme, eligibility criteria still remains the same, firstly you have to do graduation with 50% marks in graduation (45% for reserved category) after that you are eligible for appearing in the above given entrance exams.
After giving an entrance exam you will get selected on the basis of your obtained marks. But if you are in your final year graduation you can appear for the entrance exams, but you have to submit your graduation discipline documents that you are doing.
Eg:- if you have scored 96 percentile in MAT exam (which is a good score)and got 40% in graduation (not a good score). Then it doesn’t mean that you will be selected on the basis of your good MAT score, because you can’t meet the minimum eligibility criteria required in majority of B Schools and universities.
But at last, if you are aiming to do Full time MBA so you can do one thing, and that is you should apply for improvement exam and work on your exams, score well (at least 50% marks in graduation.) and invest your money at a good place (at a good university or college).
