GATE 2022 Application: Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern and Syllabus

GATE 2022 exam Application forms have been postponed, now the GATE 2022 applications will start from 2nd September, 2021 (Thursday). The exam will be CBT (online mode). GATE is an engineering entrance examination conducted on a national level. This examination is organized on yearly basis by IISC Bangalore and seven IITs. The candidates that are qualified can get admission for master and direct doctoral programs of engineering. It is also used by many PSUs for the recruitment procedure as well.

GATE 2022 Application Form
- The Application Form will be available on the online portal of GOAPS.
- The process will include the steps of online registration, filling in personal information, academic, and other required details. , uploading documents, fees payment, etc.
- There will be 27 subjects available in GATE 2022. Applicants can apply for one or two subjects.
- After registration, students are advised to print a hard copy of the application form as well.
GATE 2022 Application Fees
The application fee is non-refundable and varies on the basis of categories and centers of examination. The payment can be done in online mode (via debit card/ credit card/ net banking).

GATE 2022 General Eligibility Criteria
The candidate should have completed the 3rd year of graduation in the field of Science/Arts/Architecture/Technology/Engineering. There is no limit of age for any candidate for the Examination. For course-wise eligibility visit the official website.
GATE 2022 Exam Pattern
Mode of Examination:
The exam will be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT).
Total Subjects/Papers:
There will be a total number of 27subjects for the examination.
Sections:
The question paper will be divided into two sections- General Aptitude (GA), and candidates selected subject.
Types of Questions:
The questions asked in the examination will be subjective (MCQs), Multiple Selection Questions (MCQs), and Numerical answer types (NAT).
Number of Questions:
The question paper will have a total number of 65 questions, 10 of which will be of General Aptitude, and the remaining 55 will be of the subject chosen by the candidate.
Duration of Time:
The paper will be conducted for 3 hours duration.
Maximum Marks:
The maximum marks of the examination will be 100 marks.
Marking Pattern:
There is a negative marking for MCQs. 1/3 mark will be deducted for the 1-mark MCQs and 2/3 marks will be deducted for the 2-marks MCQs. There is no provision of negative marking for MCQs.
Subject Wise Marking:
The questions of general aptitude will be 15 marks in total and the subject chosen by the applicant will be 85 marks in total.

BM (Bio-medical Engineering):
Engineering Mathematics, Signals and System, Electrical circuits, Measurements, and Control System, Biomechanics, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biomaterials, Medical Imaging System.
Architecture and Planning (AR):
Architecture and Design, Construction and Management, Building Materials, Environment Planning, and Designing, Building, and Structure. etc
MA (Mathematics):
Functional Analysis, Complex Analysis, Real analysis, Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, etc.
EC (Electronics and Communication Engineering):
Engineering Mathematics, Networks, Electronic Devices, signal and system, Digital Circuits, Analog Circuits. Etc.
CE (Chemical Engineering):
Mechanical operations, Process calculation, and thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering mathematics, etc.
IN (Instrumentation Engineering):
Engineering Mathematics, Signals, and Systems, Electrical Circuits, Control Systems, etc.
PE (Petroleum Engineering):
Linear Algebra, Petroleum formation evaluation, Oil and Gas Well testing, etc.

Calculus, Probability, Linear Algebra, Inference, Stochastic Process, Multivariate Analysis, Design of experiment& Regression Analysis.
GATE 2022 Admit Card
All the candidates can get the admit card in online mode and can download it from 1st 0r 2nd week of January 2022. The hall tickets will not be sent by post or courier. The admit card includes the information like name of the candidate, date, time, name of the center, etc. Without a hall ticket, there will be no entry allowed for any candidate.
GATE 2022 Answer Key
The candidates will be able to see the answer key from the 3rd week of February 2022. With the help of the answer key, the candidate can check the answers before the declaration of the result. Firstly, the provisional answer key will be provided to the candidates through which the candidates can check their answers and make the objection of any discrepancy in the key. The candidates can make the objection for a certain time period and a certain fee.
GATE 2022 Cut-off
After the conclusion of the exam, the candidates can check the GATE cutoff list. The cut-off list will be different for each course as well as for each category candidate.

GATE 2022 Result
From the 3rd week to the 4th week of March 2022, the candidates will be able to get the result in online mode after the final evaluation of the exam paper. For checking the result, the candidates will be required to enter their login details in the GOAPs portal. With the help of the result, the candidates can check their performance on the entrance exam, qualifying status, etc.
GATE 2022 Scorecard
After a few days of the result declaration, the GATE scorecard will be published on the official website. Only qualified candidates will be able to see it in the last week of March 2022. From the date of declaration, the scorecard will be valid for the 3 years.Â
GATE 2022 Counseling
After the declaration of the result, the next step is counseling that is provided by the CCMT and will start in the month of April 2022. If the candidates want to participate in counseling then they will have to pay the counseling fee. There will be three stages in process of Counselling: Online registration, choice filling and locking of choices, seat allotment (online), fee payment of seat acceptance & reporting at centers physically.
