B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) is an accomplished undergraduate degree of 4 Years in the field of engineering. Candidates are offered education in Computer Sc., Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical and many more specializations. To take admission in B.Tech course, students need to appear in national/state level entrance exams that are accepted in their preferred college. The minimum eligibility criteria taken into account is 60% marks at 10+2 level in the relevant stream with a valid score in the entrance exam. The B.Tech registration procedure is supposed to start in the month of May/June 2021 for the academic plenary of 2021-22. Before taking admission, candidates must be aware of the enrollment process, top colleges, exams and its dates and many other requirements. Every college has its own set of rules and regulation to follow up for admission and check the eligibility of the students. Aspirants have the liberty to choose any stream or specialization that fits into their goal and purpose. It also depends on them to appear at any level of exams depending on their objective. 

The entrance exams are expected to commence in the month of March or April 2021. JEE Mains exam is accepted extensively in all the colleges offering B Tech programme. But besides JEE Mains, some colleges accept state-level entrance tests for admission process. Some colleges accept both the National and State level entrance exams for B Tech admissions. In Maharashtra, candidates who have qualified in either JEE Mains or MHT CET are eligible to take admission. 15% seats are retained in Himachal Pradesh for the candidates qualifying JEE Mains with a valid score. The government of this state also conducts state level entrance exams to fill up 85% of its seats.

Registration Procedure

  • Aspirants opting for B Tech programme must apply and appear for JEE Mains (conducted by NTA) or other Entrance Exams that are accepted in the preferred college with a valid score.
  • After being qualified for the second phase of admission, the shortlisted candidates can appear for JEE Advanced exam (for some colleges) or are now eligible for the admission procedure.
  • After exercising their rank, they can securely move forward for admission.
  • The candidates must visit the official website and register themselves.
  • They are required to enter all their personal information like name, address, guardian, scores of entrance exams, academic performance and other testimonials.
  • After successful submission of the application form, the shortlisted candidates can download their intimation letter from the website of the respective college and pay the fee via online mode.
  • After the fee payment, they need to report in their college with required documents within a specific date for further verification.

Eligibility Criteria

Direct Admission

Candidates can take admission in private colleges without any entrance exam score. This kind of admission is considered to be done through Management Quota. The programme fees received through Management Quota is higher than that based on an entrance exam.

Some other states also give admission to the candidates with only 12th Certificate. Their admission process is organized for UG Engineering registrations. It is compulsory for all the students of that region to participate in the procedure to acquire their seats under state quota. For instance, the Anna University, Tamil Nadu conducts Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) to carry out the admission.
