B.Tech Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for B.Tech Admission in any engineering colleges are quite similar all over India. It is the basic B.Tech Admission Eligibility Criteria:-
- Clear class 12th with PCM or PCMB stream along with English subject.
- Must have got at least 50% marks in each of the subjects taken i.e. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, respectively.
- Candidates who come under the category of SC/ST are eligible for 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks.
- For studying Biomedical or Biotechnology Engineering, candidates have to take Biology* as a subject in class 12th. *(Some of the universities or colleges want students to take Mathematics as a subject in class 12th).
- Students need to take an entrance examination, the scores or ranks of which will determine their admission to a college.
B.Tech Admission Process 2021
Admissions process for B.Tech course for the year 2021-22 will begin in the month of May or June. Most of the Engineering entrance exam for B.Tech admission starts from March or April. The admission process for B.Tech courses is not similar for all engineering colleges i.e. different for both private and public universities or colleges. They determine the eligibility of students on some other basis.
Detailed below are some of the key points related to B.Tech admission process 2021 are:–
1. Engineering Entrance Exam Scores
Not all engineering colleges in India accept the entrance exam score for the B.Tech admissions. It varies from universities to universities in every state. The most acceptable engineering entrance exam which is almost accepted by most of the engineering colleges in India is JEE Main. Apart from this, state-level engineering is also acceptable in most of the engineering colleges but it is limited to a specific state.
2. Multiple Entrance Exams and Scores
In some states, the engineering entrance exams and scores of both national level and state level entrance is acceptable.
3. Direct Admission without any Entrance Exam
In most of the private engineering universities or colleges students get direct admission to the college without any entrance exam and scores. This type of admission is counted as management quota entrance in the college. The fees for the management quota admissions is little high than the entrance based admissions.
4. Centralized Admission Process
Some of the states in India don’t conduct any entrance exam for B.Tech admissions. The admission in that states are centralized admission process which is based on your 12th Class marks or CGPA.
