GCET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria may differ for every course. Applicants who are appearing or already passed an intermediate or equivalent exam can apply for this exam. The eligibility criteria for every course are listed below:

  • For Engineering Course- applicants should have passed the intermediate or equivalent exam from the recognized board with Mathematics/ Physics/ English as mandatory subjects and anyone following subject in Computer science/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology with 45% marks for general category candidates and 40% for ST/ PH/ SC candidates.
  • For BHMS and AHS Course- Applicants must have to pass intermediate or equivalent exam with Biology, Physics, and Chemistry subjects with at least 50% marks (for general category candidates) and 40% marks for PH/ SC/ ST candidates.
  • For B. Sc Nursing Course- Applicants should have an intermediate degree with English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology with 45% aggregate marks for the general category and 40% marks for reserved category candidates.
  • For B. Pharm Course- Candidates must have to clear the intermediate or equivalent exam with Chemistry, Physics, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • For B. Arch Course- Applicants should have to clear the intermediate or equivalent examination with mathematics subject with 50% marks for general category candidates and 45% for reserved categories.

GCET Application Form

  • Applicants can fill their application form through offline mode
  • Candidate can fill their application form from June
  • Applicants can download, the application form from the GCET official website
  • The last date to submit the application form till the second week of July

GCET Application Fee

  • Applicants will need to submit application fee in the form of (DD) Demand Draft, but make sure the DD must be in favor of the Director of technical education at Panaji in Goa
  • The application fee for all category candidates will be Rupees 2000

 Syllabus of GCET Exam

The syllabus of the GCET entrance exam is prescribed by the GOA board of secondary higher education. Applicants must have intermediate examinations with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics as mandatory subjects. The subject wise topics are as follows:

  • Physics- Electrostatics and Current electricity, Magnetic effects of current and magnetism, Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, Atoms and nuclei, Optics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Electronic devices and Communication systems, Electromagnetic waves.
  • Chemistry- Coordination compounds, General principles and processes of isolation of elements, Coordination compounds, Electrochemistry, Organic compounds containing nitrogen, Alcohols, phenols and ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones, and carboxylic acids, Bio-molecules, Solutions, etc.
  • Mathematics- Vectors and three-dimensional geometry, Relations and Functions, Algebra, Linear programming, Probability, Calculus.

GCET Admit Card

Only those candidates will able to get their admit card whose have successfully submitted their application form. Don’t forget to carry your admit card before entering the examination hall. Applicants must have to bring the original copy of their to admit card and one ID proof with Photograph.

Applicants will able to see their results either on the official website or on the notice board at DTE. The result will be based on the candidate’s performance in the exam. Make sure, based on the candidate’s scorecard the merit list will be prepared.
