PUCET is university level entrance exam that is conducted every year to get admissions in many UG or PG programs. PUCET (Punjab University Common Entrance Test) has released the application form from 21st of July 2021, For UG programs the admit cards also have been released for the Punjab University Common Entrance Test that is conducted by Punjab University, Chandigarh. There are many UG or PG courses in university like- in Arts & Humanities, in Law, in Management, etc. the candidates can get admission in various courses by qualifying the entrance exam.

Application Form of PUCET 2021

For complete details candidates can take a look from official PUCET website:

  • To apply for PG courses, the application procedure has been started from 15th of April and or UG courses the application has been started from 21st
  • The last date for applying for PG courses was 3rd July and for UG courses the last date to apply is 1st August,
  • Applicant should provide all the details asked in the application from correctly. The authority may or may not provide any facility regarding the correction of details.
  • The applicants have to register online first, then he/she need to fill the application form and upload required documents. The candidates are advised to get a hard copy of the confirmation letter as it may be used for the admission procedure.

The applicants can submit the fees online by the help of debit/credit card/Net banking.

The applicant can also submit the fees through SBI-E Challan method.

Eligibility criteria for PUCET

There are some general eligibility criteria to apply for PUCET:

  • The applicant should be Indian by nationality.
  • The minimum age to apply for PUCET is 17 years.

Qualification:

  • Candidates should have cleared 10+2 or its equivalent from any recognised board pr university.
  • The general candidates should have achieved at least 50% marks in 10+2 and SC/ST/OBC/PWD should have achieved at least 45% marks in 10+2.
  • Physics, Chemistry and English are the mandatory subjects for the applicant in 10+2 and any one subject among Maths, Biotechnology, Biology.

PUCET Examination Pattern

Examination Pattern:

  • The examination will be conducted offline.
  • Objective questions will be asked in the examination (MCQs).
  • The candidates will be given 70 minutes to solve the examination paper, PwD candidates will be given extra time 0f 20 minutes.
  • 2 marks will be given for each correct answer and half mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

PUCET 2021 Syllabus

PUCET syllabus will contains the questions of 11th and 12th standard. The examination will contain questions from different topics of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology.

Detailed description of the syllabus is provided below:

Physics:

Physics World and Measurement, kinematics, work energy and power, law of motions, thermodynamics behavior of perfect gas and kinetic theory and oscillation and waves, properties of bulk matter, motion of system and particles and rigid body, gravitation, etc.

Chemistry:

Some basic concept of chemistry, classification of elements and periodicity in properties, chemical banding and molecular structure, structure of atom, hydrogen, organic chemistry- some basic principle and techniques, S- block elements, thermodynamics, equilibrium, redox reactions, hydrocarbons.

Mathematics:

Sets, relation and function, Principle of mathematical induction, binomial theory, sequence and series, conic section, introduction to three-dimensional geometry, limits and derivatives, mathematical reasoning, statics and probability, etc.

Biology:

Diversity in living world, human anatomy and physiology, cell structure and functions, structural organization in animals and plants, plants physiology, etc.

Preparation Tips

There some preparation tips are given that every candidate should follow:

  • Prepare an organized timetable & follow it surely.
  • Solve the question papers of previous years.
  • Go through the complete syllabus & exam pattern.
  • Take care of your health properly.
  • Do meditation, yoga and, light exercise.  

Admit Card for PUCET-2021

The Admit Cards for UG courses, can be downloaded from 10th of August 2021 as well as for PG courses, the hall tickets have already released from 22nd of July 2021. It will be available for all the candidates through online mode. To get the admit card it is required to log in by entering the valid application number and password. It is necessary for all the candidates to carry their admit cards along with them to the examination center. Any candidate will not be allowed without admit card.  

Answer key for PUCET-2021

The answer key will be declared after the few days of examination by the university. With the help of the answer key, candidates can assume their marks before releasing the result. Answer key will be published on the official website of PU. The candidates are required to enter their valid application number and valid password to get their answer key. For each course, there will be a unique answer key. Probably, the answer key will release in the month of August 2021 on the website.

Result for PUCET-2021

The results for both UG & PG courses, will be declared in the month of August 2021 on the website of university along with the admission schedule/instruction and with the individual entrance exam marks, rank and the list of waitlist/selected candidates. For PG courses, the result will be declared on 25th of August as well as for UG courses it will be declared 28th of august 2021.

 

Cut Off for PUCET-2021

On the basis of many factors such as- total number of candidates, number of candidates that appeared, difficulty level of exam, etc. Cut off list will be prepared and it will be prepared separately for each course. Cut off list will be published in online mode. The cut-off percentage for the general category candidates is 15% (18 marks) and for the SC/ST/PWD candidates it is 10% (12 marks).

 

Counselling for PUCET-2021

The admissions will be offered provisionally and subject to verification of the documents as per the norms. After the result declaration, the procedure of counselling will be performed. For both courses (UG & PG), the counselling will be done in multiple rounds in the month of September 2021.
