Keeping in mind the current scenario regarding the Corona – 19 pandemic, the admissions for under graduate and post graduate courses for various Institutions and Universities were delayed. As a result, the academic calendar for the year 2020-2021 has been hampered a lot. So, to return back to its original track, UGC (University Grants Commission) has released a notification on 31st August 2020 regarding the provisional admission and submission of documents of qualifying examination for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
In the notification it had directed the Universities to complete the admission procedure of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses by 31st August 2020. The authorities of the Universities are advised by the governing body (UGC) to continue with the provisional admission of the students if situation demands. Along with that the Institutions can also accept the documents regarding last qualifying examination till 30th September 2020.
The Universities are also directed to provide provisional admission to the students after 9thSeptember 2020 if they fulfill all the eligibility criteria. Along with that the terminal examinations and final year examinations are to be conducted by the last week of September. All the necessary precautions and UGC’s Guidelines should be followed until further notification has been issued. Considering the interests and number of students, the Institutions (Universities/ Central Universities/ any government Institution) are directed by UGC to continue with the provisional admission even after 30th September 2020, if the candidates are eligible for the course as per the norms and guidelines of the following University/ Institution where the admission is being sought.
