JEE Main is an entrance examination conducted to help students enter different engineering colleges of the country. The scorecard of the examination has nowadays become mandatory in order to enter a government or private owned Institution in the country.

Every year the aspirants are getting more and more talented and score better marks than the previous year. So going by the trend, the candidate who becomes eligible for JEE Advance, must score a minimum of 200 marks and above belonging to general caste. SC/ ST candidates need to score a minimum of 65 and above whereas OBC candidates need to get a total of 77 and above marks.
Based on the ranks in JEE Mains, students within 20,000 (for NITs) and 25,000 (for IIITs) ranks get enrolled into the above mentioned colleges but this rank changes depending according to their subject interest and area preferences for the particular academic year.
From the above data, it can be concluded that a general candidate with a percentile score of 88 and above is eligible whereas, other reserved candidates need a minimum of 40 percentile (SC/ ST) and 50 percentile (OBC) for JEE Main 2020. This score will make them eligible for JEE Advanced examination which will help them enter an IIT.
